II. Scroll A. Check scroll for cracks or other damage B. Pegs: winding should be even, no overlaps, and perpendicular to the nut. 1. Peg tuning: pegs turn firmly and smoothly with no “jerky” motion. 2. Peg hole not too close to the pegbox wall*
